After-school Enrichment

ABOUT AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT

The mission of the after-school enrichment program is to give students access to affordable and fun activities that conveniently meet at school after dismissal. 

Equitable: To ensure as many students as possible can participate, our instructors generously set lower enrollment fees and PTA provides needs based scholarships. 

Inclusive: PTA promotes inclusivity by providing a wide range of activities that should appeal to a variety of students including AfroBeats dance, Chess, Art, Drama and several sports such as Lacrosse and Basketball. 

Accessible: Activities meet at Fairfax directly after dismissal from 3:20 - 4:30 pm. This makes the program convenient and easy to access and allows parents to extend the school day. 

SCHOLARSHIPS

PTA provides needs-based scholarships for enrichment. Students can recieve one scholarship for one class per session. If you are interested in a scholarship, email PTA at fairfax.enrichment@gmail.com with your student's name, grade and the activity they are interested in taking. When possible, email us before enrollment opens. 

REGISTRATION USING HOMEROOM.COM  (scroll down to see Homeroom.com)

PTA uses www.homeroom.com to facilitate registration for afterschool enrichment classes. Here are tips for using homeroom: 

1. Create an account before registration opens. 

2. Under the "Family" section, add your students including their name, date of birth, teacher / grade, allergies, authorized pick-up individuals. 

3. When enrollment opens, add classes to your cart and pay using credit card or ACH online check. 

4. Using ACH online check reduces the processing fee absorbed by instructors. 

5. After you register, you can add classes to your personal calendar by clicking "Add to Calendar" in the upper right-hand corner.

6. Chess and Music Together: After registering at homeroom.com you must register and pay at the Progress with Chess or Music Together website to complete registration.
